Charlestown & Garden Suburb Uniting Church – Charlestown NSW The Milson St Hub is a mission of the Charlestown & Garden Suburb Uniting Church. The Milson St Hub Communications Coordinator will play a pivotal role in fostering deeper community connections and enhancing the public presence of the Charlestown Church. Through creative and strategic communication across digital, print, and in-person platforms, the coordinator will support the church's mission to engage with diverse community groups and reflect the life, values, and witness of the Uniting Church. Position Purpose The Milson St Hub is a mission of the Charlestown & Garden Suburb Uniting Church. The Milson St Hub Communications Coordinator will play a pivotal role in fostering deeper community connections and enhancing the public presence of the Charlestown Church. Through creative and strategic communication across digital, print, and in-person platforms, the coordinator will support the church's mission to engage with diverse community groups and reflect the life, values, and witness of the Uniting Church. Key Responsibilities Build relationships with groups using the Charlestown Church property Collect and develop tailored promotional content for each group Highlight events and initiatives of the local congregation and wider Uniting Church community Curate content for display on the church's 85" digital screen Maintain and update the Milson St Hub website, newsletter, and social media platforms Design visually engaging materials that communicate church and community messages Develop pathways to faith exploration and increased church visibility Raise awareness of church activities among the wider Charlestown community Promote justice, environmental advocacy, cultural inclusion, and reconciliation initiatives Work closely with the minister, website/newsletter editors, and facility hire team Support church leadership in equipping congregation members with tools and training in storytelling, hospitality, and community building Report to Church Council Key Selection Criteria Reading and understanding the Basis of Union, and having a preparedness to work within the polity and ethos of the Uniting Church in Australia Abiding by the policies and procedures of the Uniting Church in Australia Synod of NSW and the ACT Strong skills in communications, media production, and digital content creation Proficiency in managing websites, social media, and visual design tools Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a church or not-for-profit context Commitment to the ethos, values, and mission of the Uniting Church in Australia Applicants from any Christian denomination welcome, demonstrating alignment with the Uniting Church's mission and values Excellent interpersonal and storytelling skills, with a focus on inclusion and partnership Willingness to work a flexible schedule and to track hours worked Australian work authorisation required for this position Desirable Experience in community engagement or Placemaking preferred Background in media ministry, or church communications Experience engaging diverse or multicultural communities Understanding of contemporary faith expression and discipleship pathways #J-18808-Ljbffr
