Overview Gallagher Bassett is searching for an experienced General Liability Claims Consultant to join our high performing General Liability team. You will collaborate with government agencies, solicitors, lawyers, third parties and internal and external stakeholders working on both litigated and non‑litigated claims in a dynamic and impactful role. The position is full‑time and permanent, with a hybrid arrangement of working from home and in our Sydney CBD office. How you’ll make an impact Manage a portfolio of general liability (litigated and non‑litigated) claims end to end. Interpret public liability and professional indemnity policy wordings and apply them accurately. Provide advice to insured clients on indemnity, liability, quantum, reserving and settlement. Liaise with various third‑party providers including solicitors, loss adjusters, brokers and barristers. Settle claims within client service instructions, company guidelines and delegated authority. Resolve complaints in accordance with company guidelines and identify potential fraud or recovery indicators for claims where applicable. About you A minimum of 2 years of claims experience in public liability and/or professional indemnity claims management. Industry‑specific ANZIIF qualifications (desirable) with strong exposure to claims involving third‑party liability. Flexibility and receptivity to change. Focus on customer/client relationships and excellent customer service, communication, time‑management, organisation and interpersonal skills. PC literacy – databases and Microsoft Office.
