Strait Link is the essential freight connection across Bass Strait – and we’re looking for a driven and dynamic Sales Account Manager to join our growing Indirect Sales team. This role is all about building strong, long-term relationships with our indirect sales customers – including freight forwarders, agents and third-party logistics partners – and ensuring they receive consistent, reliable service and support. What you’ll do In this Melbourne-based role you’ll be responsible for managing a defined portfolio of indirect customers – focusing on service delivery, retention, performance and account growth through exceptional relationship management. You’ll act as the key point of contact for your accounts, ensuring their needs are met, issues are resolved quickly, and that they continue to see value in their partnership with Strait Link. Key Responsibilities Manage day-to-day relationships across assigned freight forwarding and agency customers. Be the first point of contact for service, pricing, bookings support and account queries. Develop account plans in line with customer requirements and commercial targets. Track customer performance (volumes, margins, service levels) and proactively address variances. Support contract reviews, rate updates and service changes. Collaborate closely with customer service, operations and commercial teams to ensure seamless service. Build deep understanding of your customers’ operations and advocate for their needs within Strait Link. Support customer onboarding and training, where required. What you’ll bring You’ll thrive in this role if you bring: Proven experience in account management, ideally within logistics, transport or freight. A service-first mindset with a passion for delivering consistent value. Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate across teams. Commercial acumen – you understand how account performance links to business outcomes. An organised and detail-oriented approach, and the ability to manage multiple customer needs.
