Employment Type: Temporary Full Time, 38 hours per week, until June 2027Location: Macarthur Cancer Therapy Centre - Campbelltown HospitalPosition Classification: Clinical Nurse Consultant - Grade 2Remuneration: $2,527.30 - $2,577.70 per week About the Opportunity This opportunity is for a Clinical Nurse Consultant Grade 2, who will be working within the McGrath Cancer Care Services. The MCCN will provide care, information, and support for people with cancer across the continuity of care pathways and multidisciplinary teams within the Macarthur LGA. Additionally, the MCCN will offer collaborative clinical and supportive care for people and their families, facilitating communication across the multidisciplinary cancer care team in line with the McGrath Model of Care.You will possess expert knowledge regarding the spectrum of cancer care, inclusive of health assessment, treatment pathways, referrals, and on-going facilitation of clinical and supportive cancer care. What You'll be Doing The Clinical Nurse Consultant (CNC) is an expert practitioner who, through leadership facilitates evidence based practice. The CNC will promote a service which fosters clinical excellence, research and professional leadership. Responsibilities and Qualifications Current Authority to Practice as a Registered Nurse with the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA). Minimum of 5 years full time equivalent post registration experience, with at least 3 years full time equivalent experience in Oncology, Palliative Care or Cancer Stream specific Nursing. Demonstrated ability to assess, plan, initiate and manage complex cases at an advanced level. Demonstrated understanding of the physical, and psychological needs of patients with cancer, including metastatic disease and their common treatment regimens. Proven ability to implement change and develop direction in clinical practice using evidence-based research and best practice principles. Excellent interpersonal oral and written communication skills and the ability to provide information and education effectively to patients, families, and carers. Demonstrated effective organizational and time management skills and the capacity to successfully manage competing priorities and meet deadlines. Demonstrated ability to work independently as a part of a multidisciplinary team.
