About the Role As the MCCN - (Haematology), you will provide advanced, person‑centred clinical care, coordination and education for people with blood cancer, ensuring seamless referrals and continuity of care across hospital and community settings. This role has a particular focus on patients with multiple myeloma – a chronic and relapsing blood cancer with complex nursing care needs. Patients with myeloma are treated on complex regimens including oral and parenterally administered medications in the ambulatory setting. The MCCN (Haematology) will provide close attention to symptom control, prevention of complications and improving quality of life in this patient cohort with unique supportive care needs. You will model best practice aligned with the McGrath Model of Care, contribute to guideline development, and drive evidence‑based improvements. Working collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams across haematology, oncology, radiation oncology, palliative care, allied health and primary care, you will provide expert clinical care, emotional support, patient education, and seamless coordination of services. You will also contribute to service planning, quality improvement and innovation in blood cancer care, uphold Monash Health’s commitment to safety and excellence, and represent the McGrath Foundation through service awareness, engagement and accurate data reporting. What you Bring You are a passionate, highly skilled haematology/oncology nurse who thrives in an autonomous, patient‑centred role, bringing natural leadership, strong communication and a deep commitment to excellence in cancer care. You offer advanced clinical expertise across acute and chronic haematology conditions, strong capability in complex case management and a thorough understanding of the physical and psychosocial needs of people with blood cancer. With the ability to implement evidence‑based change and drive improvements in practice, you bring exceptional communication, interpersonal, teaching and leadership skills, along with experience in policy development, guideline creation and strategic service planning. Your excellent organisational abilities and capacity to manage competing priorities enable you to deliver safe, high‑quality care in a dynamic clinical environment. You will also possess: Extensive experience post‑registration nursing experience including significant experience in caring for patients with blood cancers.
