School Crossing Supervisor – Canterbury/ Bankstown Local Government Area Transport for NSW invites applications for a School Crossing Supervisor (Casual) to support the Canterbury/Bankstown Local Government Area. The role is open to community-minded individuals passionate about road safety. Applicants must be 18 years of age or older. Job Details Job reference number: Employment type: Casual Salary: $33.83 per hour plus superannuation Location: Bankstown, NSW (on-site) Shift times: School zones 8:00–9:30 AM and 2:30–4:00 PM, minimum one‑hour shift, Monday to Friday during the school term Recruitment Timeline Applications close at 11:59 pm on Sunday 21st December 2025. Shortlisted candidates will be contacted for a quick 5‑10 minute phone interview during the week commencing 22nd December 2025, followed by panel interviews. Successful candidates may then progress to pre‑employment checks. Responsibilities Act as a Road Safety Hero, safeguarding students, parents, teachers, and local motorists during school zone hours. Serve as a familiar, trusted face around the school, building community relationships. Control traffic flow, enforce safety practices, and respond to potential hazards. Qualifications & Requirements Community‑oriented approach with reliable attendance in all weather conditions. Effective communication skills and alertness to potential dangers. Willingness to obtain a Working with Children Check, Reference Checks, Police Check, and Health Assessment. Existing checks will expedite the process. Training, uniforms, and equipment will be provided by Transport for NSW.
