Business Development Manager

Business Development Manager PPG Welshpool, Western Australia, Australia. Position based in Welshpool WA as part of our Refinish team. Responsible for growing PPG sales, profitability, and market share of Paint and Associated Products across the ANZ Refinish business. Key Responsibilities Increase market share and volume by winning competitor business. Use the PPG Business Development pipeline tool to manage prospect customers. Collect data for demonstration outcomes reporting to business owners, managers, and board members. Negotiate changeover and new business deals. Build strong relationships with the PPG Distribution Network and develop a competitor target pipeline. Expand the customer base through networking events, research, cold‑calling, and follow‑up on incoming leads. Write business proposals for new customers and negotiate, draft, and review contracts. Ensure professional product application, generating reliable data for the business. Monitor competitor products, new releases, and produce data useful to sales & marketing teams, including pricing and performance metrics. Identify users of competitive brands and create tactics to showcase the advantages of Refinish Coatings. Skills & Experience Excellent communication and negotiation skills; ability to present business results and proposals to management. Good IT skills, including data collation and analysis. Strong interpersonal skills to gain confidence and cooperation across diverse business functions. Desirable technical knowledge of refinish & industrial paint products and application techniques. Prior experience with competitor products is advantageous. Desirable trade qualification in spray painting and refinish industry, with strong negotiation and presentation skills.
