About Us Flintstones Building & Garden Supplies is one of Victoria’s largest re-sellers of steel reinforcing mesh, pods and associated accessories. We are a division of Barro Group, a proudly family‑owned and operated business established in 1946. We supply construction products to the building industry through an extensive network of branches across Victoria and are experiencing continued growth. The Role We are seeking a Full‑Time Residential Steel Reinforcing Estimator – Team Leader to join our growing team, based at our Somerton branch. In this role, you will be responsible for coordinating the estimating department team members and operations, including managing customer enquiries, producing timely accurate reinforcing steel take‑offs in accordance with Architectural and Engineering drawings. You will prepare priced estimates and communicate clearly with both customers and internal sales teams to ensure expectations are met. This position plays a key role in supporting our residential construction customers and internal stakeholders through reliable estimating and proactive communication. Key Responsibilities Lead the team of estimators Build and maintain positive relationships with customers and internal sales teams Provide honest, clear, and timely communication regarding estimates and enquiries Accurately interpret Architectural and Engineering drawings to produce reinforcing steel take‑offs and quotations Prepare priced estimates for residential slab, footing and associated reinforcing requirements Assist with coordination, scheduling, and allocation of pods Share technical knowledge with stakeholders and help resolve estimating or scope‑related issues About You A positive, “can‑do” attitude with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team Previous experience in estimating, scheduling, residential construction, or steel reinforcing highly regarded, but not essential Knowledge of steel reinforcing products such as mesh, bar, pods and accessories preferred Strong problem‑solving skills with the ability to manage competing priorities Ability to read and interpret Engineering and Architectural plans Competent technical skills, including experience using Microsoft Excel Strong communication skills, including the ability to handle enquiries and resolve issues professionally Full training and ongoing support will be provided for the right candidate. #J-18808-Ljbffr
