For further information, please visit / . PURPOSE OF THE ROLE The purpose of this role is to inspire current and future First Nations young people to be self-determined. You will be responsible for ensuring students are safe and happy at school which involves liaising between students, families, schools and the wider MADALAH team. This role requires flexibility, as student events can fall on weekends and after school hours. This position is ideal for a proactive, creative and well organised person looking to make a difference in an organisation aiming to make a difference in young people's lives. Our ideal candidate will have a can-do attitude, and eye for detail and a willingness to learn. The candidate must be able to take initiative and work with minimal supervision at times with a flexible attitude and the ability to prioritise workload. THE DUTIES OF THE ROLE Liaise between students, families, and schools, to ensure a cohesive and culturally safe environment for students. Provide wrap‑around support to students under the direction of the Team Lead including visiting students at school (metro and regional) – building relationships and providing mentoring throughout their journey. Case manage students, develop Individual Learning Plans with all students and CCP's with Seniors. Take a holistic approach in providing support to students in line with the Social and Emotional Wellbeing (SEWB) framework. Create Student Support Plans where SEWB concerns are identified in conjunction with the school and psychologist to ensure students succeed. Develop intervention strategies in partnership with school coordinators to ensure collaborative approach ensuring student success. Write and develop mentoring sessions, ensuring cultural appropriateness. Responsible for creating good news stories and writing case studies on students. Duty of care of students at MADALAH events, including camps. Participate in Cultural Education training to our partner schools. TO BE CONSIDERED FOR THIS OPPORTUNITY, YOU WILL NEED TO MEET THE FOLLOWING CRITERIA Proficient knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite. Demonstrated experience in working with youth (not essential but highly advantageous). Intermediate skills trauma informed practice (Preferred but not essential, will provide training). Demonstrated understanding and / or lived experience of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures and engagement with the community (highly advantageous). Ability to obtain a satisfactory police clearance and hold a Working with Children Check card.
