What you'll be doing This position will provide clinical psychologist services to the SCHN Gender Service within the Department of Adolescent Medicine. The Gender Service is a multidisciplinary service providing assessment, medical and psychosocial interventions for trans and gender diverse children and adolescents. The Clinical Psychologist is expected to work within a multidisciplinary team and provide various aspects of the Gender Service. This may include intake, service co‑coordination, diagnostic assessment, mental health referral and case management for children and adolescents presenting to the SCHN Gender Service. The clinician will also provide clinical psychology services, including comprehensive family and individual assessment, case formulation, treatment planning, referral to local treatment services, or ongoing treatment and complex case management. The position may also entail providing clinical services to other inpatients and outpatients of the hospital. The clinician will be involved in research projects within the department, maintaining clinical and research data sets, consultation, teaching and clinical supervision. Applicants currently enrolled in a combined Masters/PhD are eligible to apply if they have completed the equivalent of Masters degree requirements as part of the PhD pathway. Evidence of this is demonstrated by a completed PDEC‑76 form and cover letter from the University confirming Masters degree requirements have been met. Applicants are eligible to apply if they have completed an accredited Masters degree and are awaiting their graduation ceremony. Written confirmation from the University is required. Successful applicants who have completed the Masters degree or Masters degree requirements and are awaiting full registration from the Psychology Board of Australia will be paid at Year 2 of the Psychologist Scale until they have full registration with the Psychology Board of Australia, at which point they will commence on Year 1 of the Clinical Psychologist scale. About You Minimum 2‑year full‑time equivalent accredited postgraduate Masters or Doctorate degree in Clinical Psychology. Full registration with the AHPRA Psychology Board of Australia, with Clinical Psychology endorsement, or eligibility to progress to the same. Clinical skills and experience with trans and gender diverse populations in addition to expertise in child and adolescent mental health preferred. Experience working in a multidisciplinary team led by a medical consultant. Experience in paediatric psychological assessment and therapy, specifically in cognitive behaviour therapy and systemic family therapy at a minimum.
