About the role Our Despatch Operator will be responsible for: Preparing daily runs for our expanding team of HC Drivers, this includes reviewing all bookings for the following day, allocating jobs across our drivers via our booking software and responding to customer requests Customer service – liaising with clients regarding the status of booked deliveries or answering questions about bookings Driver support – liaising with our drivers to solve any issues they may face, this may include calling our clients for further delivery instructions or rescheduling Vehicle maintenance – taking care of our vehicles, checking tyres and features are in working conditions and liaising with mechanics to book in repairs and maintenance Warehousing – occasionally unloading deliveries received to our yard by forklift and maintaining a tidy and functional warehouse Administration – assisting our bookkeepers with payroll and outgoing payments generally by providing any necessary information and keeping employee records up to date Working hours will be Monday – Friday from 5.30am to 4.30pm. Our office is located in Stayplton. Whilst we require our Despatch Operator to work from our yard usually, we support flexibility and can accommodate the ideal candidate working from home occasionally or on a needs to basis.
