Payroll Officer

As a Payroll Officer at Capri Holdings, you will play a vital role in ensuring the accurate and timely processing of payroll for two brands across Australia and New Zealand with approximately 250 team members (comprised of both frontline and corporate). This is a full‑time position; part‑time will be considered for the right candidate. What you’ll be doing Manage end‑to‑end payroll processes for AU and NZ – new starters, changes, terminations, deductions, allowances and on/off‑cycle runs. Maintain payroll data integrity (timesheets, T/A imports, leave reconciliation, exception handling, and approvals). Ensure compliance & reporting across both AU & NZ statutory requirements (PAYG, Superannuation, payroll tax, long service leave, IRD payday). Interpret & ensure compliance with applicable industrial instruments (General Retail Award). Perform month‑end payroll journals, GL reconciliations, accruals, variance analysis and audit packs. Collaborate with HR to ensure payroll data is properly integrated and updated. Stay informed of changes in payroll regulations and best practices. What we’re looking for Minimum 3 years’ experience in a payroll officer or similar role. Experience processing payroll for frontline teams in retail or hospitality. Strong knowledge of payroll processes and legislation for AU & NZ. Excellent attention to detail and numerical accuracy. Proficient with payroll & HRIS software and strong Excel skills. Strong communication and customer‑service skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Tertiary qualification in accounting, payroll administration or human resources.
