Physiotherapist (Lvl 4) - Neurodegenerative Supportive Care Team - Perm FT NSW Health Warwick Farm, New South Wales, Australia Employment Type: Permanent Full Time, 38 hours per week Location: SWSLHD District Wide Service Position Classification: Physiotherapist Level 4 Remuneration: $126,524.00 - $129,591.00 per annum Requisition ID: REQ Application Close Date: 14/12/2025 Interview Date Range: 17/12/2025 – 19/12/2025 Contact Details: Matthew Heikkinen – | About The Opportunity The Level 4 Senior Neurodegenerative Disease Supportive Care physiotherapist will holistically assess and manage clients in the community with neurodegenerative disease – including respiratory and ventilatory support and functional assessment. The role involves specialist physiotherapy clinical service provision across South West Sydney Local Health District, service development, advanced clinical reasoning, and multidisciplinary collaboration with Neurology, Palliative Care, and Respiratory Departments to design district-wide pathways and facilitate community supports. Responsibilities Assess and manage functional aspects, including exercise advice, upper limb care, neck supports, and positioning. Implement and assist in the delivery of ventilatory support/non‑invasive ventilation for community clients. Provide respiratory care, including secretion clearance and airway suctioning where indicated. Educate and support patients, carers, and private care providers on ventilatory equipment, respiratory care, sputum clearance techniques, and transfer aids/tools. Participate in case conferencing, clinical meetings, and multidisciplinary clinics. Liaise with medical staff regarding treatment choices and long‑term treatment plans. Facilitate community supports and in‑reach to hospital outpatient clinics. Qualifications Current Physiotherapy Registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA). Experience managing a complex physiotherapy caseload involving neurodegenerative conditions. Demonstrated advanced practice skills for safe respiratory management and supporting patients through end‑of‑life care. Experience providing clinical education to other health professionals, integrating evidence‑based practice. Australian C‑Class driver’s licence (or qualification to obtain one within three months of appointment).
