PURPOSE OF THE ROLE The HR Business Partner is the strategic link between our organisational goals and our people. You will partner with business leaders to translate their objectives into effective people strategies, ensuring we build the capability and culture needed to save lives. Working closely with managers, employees, and stakeholders, you will drive workforce planning, talent management, and employee engagement initiatives that directly support our mission‑critical operations. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Partner strategically with business leaders to align people strategies with organisational objectives Drive workforce planning and organisational design initiatives to build capability and agility Guide managers through performance management processes, succession planning, and leadership development Champion a positive workplace culture aligned to Smartways’ values and mission Provide expert advice on employee relations, conflict resolution, and compliance matters Support talent management initiatives including career pathways and skills development Lead HR projects in areas such as culture, engagement surveys, and organisational development Ensure compliance with employment legislation, company policies, and industrial agreements Partner with Learning & Development to implement targeted capability‑building initiatives WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR Tertiary qualification in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field Proven HR Generalist or business partnering experience in a fast‑paced environment Demonstrated understanding of employment legislation and HR best practices Excellent communication and relationship‑building skills across all organisational levels Experience with HRIS systems and data‑driven decision making Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced, mission‑critical environment High level of discretion and professionalism when handling sensitive information People‑centric mindset with alignment to our values WHY JOIN SMARTWAYS?
