Senior Communications Officer , Queensland Health Full time, Contract, Part time, Casual/Temporary As the Senior Communications Officer, you’ll play a key role in shaping how Forensic Science Queensland (FSQ) connects with its people and the community. You’ll create engaging content across digital, video, and graphic design platforms, bringing stories to life and showcasing the great work our agency does. We’re looking for a creative professional who combines design expertise with clear, impactful messaging. In this role, you’ll implement communication and change strategies while adding creative flair to everything you produce, delivering content that connects, informs, and inspires. Your key responsibilities Support FSQ's strategic direction by delivering day to day communications and online functions, and contribute to team strategies for communications, change, and engagement in a complex environment. Develop, write, and coordinate a range of communication activities, including newsletters, all-staff updates, presentations, graphic design, online content and events for FSQ. Ensure all communication and digital materials are accurate, readable, compliant with Queensland Government guidelines and departmental protocols, and delivered on time and within budget. Build and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders to help achieve FSQ's strategic objectives. Technical skills, abilities and cultural capability Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to engage and motivate diverse audiences. Proven ability to design and implement communication strategies that promote employee programs, FSQ initiatives, and positive news stories across multiple platforms. Experience in external communications to strengthen relationships with stakeholders, including government agencies, transition teams, and the Queensland community. Skilled in managing intranet and internet content (e.g., SharePoint, Squiz) and producing engaging digital content. Strong graphic design capability, applying design principles to create visually compelling materials using Adobe Creative Suite, with experience in video editing for digital platforms. Demonstrated experience supporting change and program initiatives through clear, timely communications and staff engagement. Ability to work independently employing time management strategies to meet deadlines, while thriving in a collaborative, supportive team environment.
