About The Role We are seeking a resilient and compassionate Centre Manager to lead day-to-day operations at the Brisbane Immigration Detention Centre . In this key leadership role, you will: Lead and support a large, multidisciplinary workforce in a 24/7 setting Ensure service delivery meets all contractual, legislative and procedural requirements Foster a safe, respectful, trauma-informed environment for detainees and staff Engage closely with government partners, service providers, and community stakeholders Drive continuous improvement through performance metrics, audits and team feedback Respond effectively to critical incidents, risk and compliance issues To be successful in this role: You are a resilient, values-driven leader who thrives in high-pressure, complex environments. You lead with integrity, cultural sensitivity, and strike a strong balance between operational efficiency, compliance, and stakeholder engagement. Key Requirements: Proven leadership experience in detention, corrections, defence, emergency services or similar Strong stakeholder management and communication skills Deep understanding of contract compliance, risk, and incident management Demonstrated ability to build positive team culture and high performance Commitment to trauma-informed, culturally sensitive practices Resilience and integrity under pressure Eligibility Requirements Australian Citizenship (required for security clearance) Ability to obtain and maintain AGSVA security clearance and AFP check Relevant tertiary qualifications in management, justice, or human services (desirable) For a confidential discussion, contact or click Apply Now – we’re ready to prioritise your application.
