The Project Officer plays a critical role in delivering safe, secure, and sustainable housing solutions aligned with Habitat for Humanity Australia’s mission. This role is responsible for supporting the operationalisation of the ‘Healthy Homes’ program and Habitat Women repairs and maintenance. HFHA supports service delivery partners by providing safe and decent housing for those they support. The Housing Officer is responsible for delivering high quality tenancy and property management for Habitat for Humanity Australia. Key Responsibilities Healthy Homes Support the development and delivery of the program aligned with funding, including the development of a home assessment tool and training. Responsible for the scheduling and assessment of properties. Support the planning and delivery of Healthy Homes training, assessments, repairs and upgrades. Coordinate contractors, timelines, budgets, and compliance requirements. Monitor program progress and ensure alignment with strategic goals and funding agreements. Support Habitat Women repairs and maintenance projects from time‑to‑time. Deliver targeted maintenance and upgrades to improve housing quality and climate resilience. Partnership and Stakeholder Engagement Build and maintain relationships with community organisations, service providers, and local councils. Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to support tenant wellbeing and housing outcomes. Work Health and Safety (WHS) Ensure all housing operations comply with WHS legislation and organisational policies. Conduct regular risk assessments and implement safety protocols. Provide WHS training and guidance to staff, contractors, and tenants as required. Reporting and Evaluation Maintain accurate records of property and tenancy activities. Prepare regular reports on housing performance, occupancy, maintenance, and tenant satisfaction. Contribute to program evaluations and continuous improvement initiatives. KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE Experience in repairs and maintenance. Experience in training and project management/program delivery. Strong understanding of WHS legislation and compliance. Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills Ability to manage multiple priorities and projects effectively. Other Requirements: Experience working in the not‑for‑profit sector. The successful applicant will need to provide evidence of a clear criminal history and adhere to HFHA’s Code of Conduct, policies and procedures including the Child Protection Policy. Class C drivers licence. The successful candidate will need a satisfactory driving history and may need to provide details of their driving history as part of the application process.
