Ensuring a strong winery focused restaurant culture, retention and succession planning Manage daily operations including service, reservations (we own our proprietary system), bar management, events and of course curate unbelievable experiences Create and ensure our customer service is not only high level but outstanding overall guest experience Oversee rostering, stock control, ordering, and supplier relationships Follow our “Wine Forward” concept Facilitate our wine education led program Maintain compliance with RSA, licensing, food safety, and OH&S regulations When you are at the reins…LEAD Become the GM’s right hand and support the management team in every way possible. Drive sales strategies, financial performance and inventory control to meet business goals for the restaurant/winery, cocktail bar Work closely with our reservations team and our marketing team to collaboratively create a positive environment so much so that everyone wants to work with you and become your client What You Bring Proven experience as a Venue Manager or Assistant Venue Manager in a quality restaurant or bar Strong passion for wine and modern dining Confident leader who can motivate, support, and manage a busy team Excellent communication and organisational skills Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced CBD environment Strong understanding of POS, booking platforms (extensive training on our system will be provided), and venue operations Availability to work evenings and weekends What We Give Competitive salary + performance incentives Opportunities for professional development and leadership growth Work in a stylish, wine‑focused venue in one of Melbourne’s most iconic laneways Supportive ownership and a collaborative workplace culture Public transport ridiculously close by Long‑term partnership opportunities Think you've got what it takes? The ideal candidate will have: Unrestricted Right to Work in Australia - Citizen or PR candidates preferred, otherwise at least 2+ years left on a temporary visa with full‑time work privileges. Experience & Background – 3–5 years in premium, high‑volume restaurants;with at least 1-2 years in an Assistant Manager or equivalent leadership role. Skills & Knowledge – Strong in management, workforce planning, stock control, compliance (OHS, RSA, first aid), and proficient in POS, reservations, and rostering systems (e.g. Wiz Butler, Tanda, Lightyear, etc). Leadership & Soft Skills – Inspiring leader with excellent communication, conflict resolution & organisational skills; as well as a proactive, strategic mindset.
