HR People Partner Olympic Park Sydney NSW This is a 12‑Month Fixed Term Contract providing an excellent opportunity to gain exposure to complex HR operations and make a real impact. As part of this role you will be required to travel to sites in Homebush, Mascot, Bankstown and Essendon Fields (VIC) as required. You will partner with business units nationwide supporting leaders and employees across our Government and Defence operations. You’ll be part of a globally connected HR team with specialists across Employee and Industrial Relations, Talent Acquisition and Management, Organisational Development, and Compensation and Benefits. Responsibilities Support the delivery of HR strategies tailored to business objectives. Gain in‑depth proficiency in Workday handling transactions related to learning and development and performance management. Provide hands‑on support in employee relations case management and disciplinary matters, offering guidance on policies, performance investigations and compensation. Advise on industrial instruments, Australian employment law and Modern Awards;‑escalate complex issues when needed. Manage the employee lifecycle comprehensively including transactional HR tasks. Regularly visit key Brisbane or Sydney sites to maintain a strong presence. Qualifications Minimum 3 years in a senior HR advisory or business partner role plus 5 years within Aviation, Defence or Government sectors with a strong focus on HR operations and business partnering. Demonstrated ability to work across both white‑collar and blue‑collar environments managing diverse workforce needs. Strong understanding of Australian employment law, Modern Awards, HRIS systems and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite. Proven capability to manage complex Employee Relations matters with sound judgment and professionalism. Ability to defend and rationalise recommendations, providing clear evidence‑based reasoning for proposed strategies and actions. Highly fluid, agile and resilient with the capacity to adapt quickly in dynamic and challenging environments. Tertiary qualifications in Human Resources or a related discipline.
