About the team We are Australia’s international trade remedies authority - the Anti-Dumping Commission (the Commission). The commission is responsible for undertaking investigations into allegations of unfair international trade practices involving goods entering Australia and administering Australia’s anti-dumping legislation. These investigations seek to deliver a level playing field for industry. Professionalism, excellence and independence underpins the commission’s world‑class reputation. The commission is structured into three branches: Investigations Branch, Strategy and Ops Branch and Legal Branch. About the Investigations Branch The Commission’s Investigations Branch is made up of four investigations teams and a quality assurance and verification team. The branch undertakes highly technical anti-dumping and subsidy investigations. Investigations teams engage with a wide range of stakeholders and prepare reports that apply relevant legislation, policy and practice. Investigations teams conduct detailed research and complex analysis of financial and economic data. What’s in it for you? Our ideal candidate To undertake this role you will be required to demonstrate that you have: Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to liaise effectively at all levels Strong time management and organisation skills and the ability to effectively prioritise tasks A proactive can‑do disposition with a track record of demonstrating initiative Strong Microsoft Office suite skills The ability to apply a high level of confidentiality, judgement and initiative to all situations High standards of professional and personal integrity An ability to work calmly and effectively in a fast paced and dynamic environment Strong attention to detail Previous Executive Assistant (EA) experience is not required if the ideal candidate can demonstrate transferable skills and has the right attitude, personality, and approach. What you will do This role has two key and equally principal functions: Branch Administrative Coordinator for the Investigations Branch Executive Assistant, providing high level executive and administrative support to the Deputy Commissioner Investigations at the Anti-Dumping Commission. Responsibilities of the role include: Branch Administrative Coordination Acting as a secretariat for the Commission’s investigations related decision‑making bodies (e.g. coordination of papers, agendas, minutes, and direct liaison with branch directors and staff) Coordination of branch reporting mechanisms to support executive briefing and decision‑making Tracking branch‑related action items, including liaising with branch directors and staff Executive Assistance Providing executive secretarial and administrative support to the senior executive including arranging meetings, email and diary management; Managing deadlines and clearances, on behalf of the deputy commissioners, using judgement to prioritise and ensure timely adherence to timeframes; Building and maintaining relationships with internal and external stakeholder on behalf of the deputy commissioners in line with the APS Values and Code of Conduct and relevant departmental policies; Working collaboratively across the executive team and the commission to support the Deputy Commissioner as required; and Coordinating and preparing correspondence, documents, data reports and briefing material as required. Eligibility To be eligible for employment in the APS and the department, candidates must be Australian Citizens. Positions require a Baseline security clearance and successful candidates will be required to obtain and maintain a clearance at this level. Notes This job is based in Melbourne. The department offers flexible working arrangements however applicants should note that given the nature of this role, it is primarily based in office.
