CONSTRUCTION & MAINTENANCE WORKER About the opportunity Port Pirie Regional Council is seeking to appoint a highly motivated and suitably skilled individual to join our dedicated Infrastructure team and help build and maintain Council’s civil infrastructure. This hands‑on role includes concrete works, facility maintenance, workshop support, and emergency response. If you’re community‑focused, safety‑conscious, and ready to make a difference, we’d love to hear from you. Depending upon qualifications, skills and knowledge, remuneration will be negotiable between Grade 5 and 6 of the Local Government Award and Council’s associated Enterprise Agreement with the flexibility of a 9‑day fortnight. Multiple positions available with an immediate start desired. About you To be considered for this position, you must have: Sound knowledge of construction and maintenance techniques as appropriate to Council’s civil infrastructure Knowledge of local government operations Knowledge of good customer service principles and practices Experience in relevant plant and machinery used in construction and maintenance Certificate III in Civil Construction is desirable First Aid Certificate or ability to obtain It is desirable that you have appropriate qualifications to operate plant and machinery Ability to work in a team environment Ability to respond to building maintenance issues Basic understanding of mechanical workshop operations MR or HR licence, previous concreting experience and plant/grader operations are highly desired.
