It is a collaborative setting that values clear thinking, proactive planning, and the effective communication of complex information. Why this Role? Lead the operation and ongoing refinement of the Department's Teacher Supply and Demand Model in Power BI, ensuring insights are accurate, timely, and accessible for statewide, regional, and school workforce planning. Integrate demographic, enrolment, and workforce data into clear planning outputs, and apply risk assessment and sensitivity analysis to support long‑term workforce strategies. Represent the Department in state and national workforce planning forums and contribute to data‑sharing, policy discussions, and sector‑wide planning initiatives. Build capability across regional HR teams to interpret and apply workforce forecasts, and support the consistent adoption of workforce planning practices. Provide expert advice on workforce supply, retention, mobility, and pipeline strategies, including targeted approaches for hard‑to‑fill teaching areas. Develop and maintain workforce planning frameworks, tools, and resources that strengthen planning maturity and support alignment between school, regional, and system planning. Present complex modelling and analysis in clear, meaningful ways that inform executive decision making and proactive planning for emerging workforce risks. Skills and Experience In‑depth experience in workforce planning, workforce analytics, or a related strategic HR or planning field. Demonstrated capability in managing complex modelling or forecasting tools (ideally Power BI) and using integrated datasets to produce actionable insights. High‑level analytical skills, including risk assessment, scenario modelling, and interpreting trends to support long‑term workforce decisions. Experience providing authoritative advice to senior leaders on workforce issues such as supply, retention, mobility, and pipeline needs. Proven ability to lead, coach, or uplift capability within teams responsible for planning or analysis. Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex data in clear and practical ways for non‑technical audiences. Experience working in environments that require sound judgement, governance, and an understanding of organisational priorities.
