About the Role Reporting to the Executive Director, the Commercial Manager provides a central point of accountability for Eastern Guruma's commercial processes. You will oversee commercial interfaces, business development, quotations and estimations, tenders, CRM management, and support the delivery of our Strategic, Marketing and Sales Plans. You will lead the commercial team in projects and estimations as well as the IT team, nurture client relationships, foster continuous improvement, and ensure alignment with Eastern Guruma's ISO-aligned management systems. This role requires a proactive, influential leader who can confidently manage ambiguity, drive outcomes, and maintain strong engagement with internal and external stakeholders. You will work alongside Business Development and projects to ensure post‑award projects are aligned with estimations. Key Responsibilities Leadership & Strategy Assist the Executive Director in leadership, innovation and business development efforts. Oversee the Commercial and IT teams to ensure cohesive operations, effective service delivery and alignment with organisational objectives. Champion continuous improvement and commercial excellence across the business. Customer & Stakeholder Management Build and maintain strong client and stakeholder relationships. Drive customer engagement, enquiries, appointments, negotiations and conversions. Maintain an effective client management structure and CRM processes. Commercial Operations Oversee quotations, estimations, tenders and pre‑contracts processes to ensure probity, due diligence and commercial integrity. Support sales forecasting, revenue monitoring and profitability analysis. Ensure smooth workflow transition of converted clients to Operations. Marketing, Sales & Strategic Support Assist in delivering Eastern Guruma's Strategic, Marketing and Sales Plans. Provide input into advertising, social media, website content and commercial documentation. Manage high‑level interfaces with Government, compliance entities and industry bodies. Compliance & Governance Ensure adherence to all commercial, legislative, HSEQ and organisational compliance requirements. Support governance processes including Board preparation and executive reporting. Our people are our most valuable assets, as such, we support and invest in your professional development. About You Tertiary qualifications in business, commerce or a related field. Extensive experience as a Commercial Manager, Operations Manager, Sales Manager or Client / Account Manager, within the civil and mining services, construction or utilities sectors. Demonstrated capability in strategic development planning, including the design, implementation and execution of marketing and sales plans. Strong background in business development, client relationship management, contract management and dispute resolution, with a proven ability to drive commercial outcomes. Proven high‑level leadership capability, with the ability to navigate ambiguity, influence stakeholders, build trust, delegate effectively and foster a culture of accountability, high performance and successful outcomes. Sound governance capability, including preparing for Board meetings and facilitating matters requiring Director‑level interaction. Exhibits high integrity, strong ethical standards, professionalism and sound judgment, consistently reflected in effective decision‑making. Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information clearly and professionally.
