Creating Links is a not-for-profit dedicated to supporting communities across Greater Sydney. Roles Available – We’re All About Culture & Connection Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander Support Superstars – open only to members of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander backgrounds. Dinka‑Speaking Support Champs – need to speak Dinka. Mandarin‑Speaking Support Heroes – fluent in Mandarin. Turkish‑Speaking Support Legends – fluent in Turkish. Fijian Indian‑Speaking Support Stars – fluent in Fijian Indian. Māori‑Speaking Support Guardians – fluent in te reo Māori. What You’ll Be Doing Drive kids to school, appointments, and family visits. Supervise family time with empathy and professionalism. Offer emotional support before, during, and after visits. Model positive parenting and respectful interactions. Write up observations like a pro – clear, objective, and timely. Spot and report any safety concerns (you’ll be trained for this). Work closely with carers, caseworkers, and the OOHC team. What You Bring to the Table Must‑Haves: Cert III in a welfare‑related field (or solid experience). Fluent in Dinka, Turkish, Fijian Indian, MāoriOrMandarin (for relevant roles). OOHC or child protection experience. Trauma‑informed care skills. Strong communication and report‑writing skills. Tech‑savvy with Microsoft 365 & record systems. WWCC, Police Check, First Aid, Driver’s Licence + insured car. Flexibility for early mornings, evenings & weekends. Physically able to support kids (lifting may be needed). Nice‑to‑Haves: Child protection training (e.g. Mandatory Reporter, SMART). Mental Health First Aid or therapeutic training. Experience working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander families.
