Ron Finemore Transport (RFT) is seeking a Senior Payroll Officer to independently manage its complex weekly payroll. This is a full time, office-based role in Wodonga where you will oversee the payroll cycle. You will work with established systems, clear procedures and a stable finance team available to provide leave cover when needed. The weekly rhythm offers a balanced work pattern. The role requires slightly longer days on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, with shorter hours on Monday and Friday to give you breathing space at both ends of the week due to the dynamic payroll environment of Ron Finemore Transport. You have deep experience working with end-to-end payroll and you enjoy being responsible for the whole process. You are confident interpreting EBAs and awards, handling allowances, deductions and multiple employee groups, and maintaining compliance at every step. You are thorough, organised and calm under pressure. You communicate clearly, respond to staff professionally, and take pride in meeting non-negotiable deadlines. You work well within a team environment but are also comfortable running a standalone function where accuracy and self-management matter. What you’ll be doing You will be the person who oversees every step of the weekly payroll process. From validations and reconciliations through to reporting and employee support, you’ll run a payroll function that the business depends on for clarity, compliance and reliability. Key responsibilities include: Processing accurate, timely end to end weekly payroll Validating timesheets, allowances, deductions, leave and approvals Interpreting EBAs, awards and industrial instruments Maintaining payroll master data, employee records and contract documentation Preparing payroll reports and payroll related reconciliations Managing payments to the ATO, super funds and other statutory bodies Supporting onboarding and ensuring new starter documentation is correct Responding to employee and manager payroll queries Keeping processes audit ready and contributing to improvements What RFT is looking for At least 5 years end to end payroll experience Strong knowledge of EBAs, awards, legislation, taxation and superannuation Experience with weekly, high volume and multi award payrolls Confident with reconciliations and resolving discrepancies Strong Excel skills Experience with HR3 is helpful but not essential Accurate, reliable and deadline focussed Professional, approachable and comfortable working with staff at all levels About Ron Finemore Transport Ron Finemore Transport is a nationally recognised and regionally based transport and logistics business servicing the Eastern States of Australia.
