Infrastructure Support Engineer, IREO

Overview AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global data centre infrastructure. We’re the people who keep the cloud running, supporting all AWS data centres and the servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment that ensure our customers have continual access to the innovation they rely on. You will gain hands-on experience with tools and services beyond the scope of native AWS products, engaging with systems you might not encounter otherwise. Responsibilities Provide technical support, troubleshoot and debug technical systems, and apply Linux expertise to diagnose and resolve issues. Limit ticket queues for internal and partner service teams while ensuring service level agreements (SLAs) are met. Lead efforts to enhance operational efficiency by analyzing root causes, trends, and developing metrics, procedures, tools, and documentation. Collaborate with internal service teams on initiatives such as patching, operating system migrations, and code releases. Work with internal software development teams to improve systems and services within the team’s scope. Engage with experienced engineers and participate in knowledge-sharing sessions. Day in the Life Dive deep to pinpoint underlying causes of software-based issues and assist in escalations as needed. Apply Linux expertise to troubleshoot and drive innovative solutions. Manage ticket queues efficiently for internal and partner teams and meet SLAs. Analyze root causes and trends to develop metrics, procedures, tools, and documentation to improve operations. Contribute to company-wide initiatives including patching, migrations, and code releases. Collaborate with internal software teams to enhance systems and services within the team’s scope. Engage in knowledge-sharing sessions with the team.
