We’re now seeking an experienced and strategic National Business Development Manager (NBDM) to help drive the next phase of our growth. About the Role Reporting to the General Manager – Sales & Marketing, this hands‑on, strategic role is pivotal in shaping the future market position of Woodhouse. You’ll drive national growth by identifying new markets and channels, expanding commercial and trade relationships, and ensuring new product success. Working closely with our Sales, Marketing, Product Development and Operations teams, you’ll play a key role in unlocking new opportunities, increasing market and wallet share, and delivering sustainable growth across Australia. Key Responsibilities Develop and execute strategic growth plans that identify new markets, customer segments, and product opportunities. Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders including architects, specifiers, builders, installers, buying groups and major commercial accounts. Partner with the National Sales Management team to deliver go‑to‑market strategies for new product ranges. Analyse market trends and competitors to identify emerging opportunities, unique selling propositions, and competitive advantages. Represent Woodhouse at industry events, trade shows and strategic forums to elevate brand presence and business networks. Collaborate cross‑functionally with Sales, Marketing, Product and Supply Chain to ensure cohesive execution of business development strategies. Provide in‑field support to strengthen core partnerships, minimise leakage, and drive category growth. Lead commercial planning — including sales forecasting, reporting, and performance analysis. Mentor and influence internal teams to prioritise initiatives that drive market expansion and customer success. About You You’re a seasoned sales and business development professional with: 10+ years of professional sales experience , ideally within the building products, construction or timber sectors. A proven track record in driving business growth and opening new market channels. Strong existing relationships or networks within the trade, commercial or building industries. Excellent communication, negotiation and relationship‑building skills. The ability to think strategically while remaining hands‑on and execution‑focused. Strong commercial acumen and data‑driven decision‑making ability. Experience with CRM systems and Microsoft 365 Suite. A current Australian driver’s licence and flexibility to travel interstate as required. Experience with specifiers, architects and tender management platforms (EstimateOne, BCI) is highly regarded, as is prior experience working with large retail partners such as Bunnings.
