Family Life - The Hub - Our Buzzing Donations HQ Family Life has been working with vulnerable children, families and communities since 1970. At the core of our organisation is our vision to build capable communities, strong families and thriving children. Family Life has multiple Community Opportunity Shops located across the Bayside, Mornington Peninsula and Kingston regions of Melbourne. These community‑hubs are vibrant spaces, each shop playing an important role in the lives of the community it serves. The Family Life Distribution Centre and Clearance shop supports the operations of the Community Opportunity Shops by sorting and distributing donations, collecting donations from estates, apartments and businesses, collecting furniture donations, delivering furniture items to customers, and managing the online store. Family Life opportunity shops help raise funds for families, children and young people. Position Objective Join the Buzz at The Hub A hive of fashion, flair, and feel‑good vibes. We are looking for volunteer legends to help sort, pick, and prep stock with love – think labels, looks, and a whole lot of laughs. Responsibilities Sort and prepare donated stock for sale or distribution. Pick items and assist customers with selections. Ensure items are ready for display and sale. Location & Hours Location: The Hub – Our Buzzing Donations HQ Shifts: Flexible – work with your vibe & availability. Commitment: Regular – more than 6 months. Type of Work: Retail & Sales. Time Required: Flexible. Minimum 2‑4 hours per week. Monday to Thursday 9 am to 4 pm; Friday 9 am to 3 pm. Category: Community Services. Training The Hub Centre Volunteer Assistant will undergo Family Life Induction. Additionally, a role and site induction with instruction on processes and procedures will be provided by the Hub Warehouse Manager or delegate on the first day. Ongoing support will be offered to ensure you are comfortable and happy in your volunteer role. Be careful – don’t provide your bank or credit card details when applying for jobs.
