Domestic Assistant/ Laundry Assistant/ Kitchen Hand Bethanie is a leading not for profit aged care provider based in Western Australia. We are currently seeking two dedicated Domestic Assistants / Laundry Assistants/ Kitchen Hand to join the team providing support services at Bethanie Fields Aged Care Home located in Eaton. Co-located with a retirement village, Bethanie Fields is a 160 bed facility designed specifically to provide support for people who need 24 hour care, including those with special care needs and dementia. This role is offered on a casual basis. To be successful in this role, you must be able to work across the below 3 roles. Successful applicants will form part of our casual pool who provide relief across both morning and afternoons, as well as on weekends and public holidays. Shifts for each role are as follows: Key Responsibilities: The successful applicant must be experienced in and willing to work in all departments listed below: Domestic Assistant Ensuring bathrooms, toilets, furniture, fittings, floors and communal areas are kept clean and tidy Ensuring supplies are stocked within the facility Liaise with other Bethanie employees to ensure the needs of clients are met Ensuring client's personal clothing is individually labelled, and put away in their rooms, identifying items that require mending Laundry Assistant Ensure all personal laundry and linen is laundered correctly and ensure infection control practices are adhered to Sort and wash linen by wash temperature, colour, degree of soiling, infectious nature, fabric and fibre Load and unload washing machine and tumble dryers Sort and fold clean and dry linen for dispatch to sites Report damage or wear and recommend repairs or replacement Ensuring responsible work practices of food preparation, kitchen cleanliness and hygiene standards Ensuring required ingredients are available daily Assisting is preparation, apportioning and serving of meals Maintaining all utensils, equipment, work benches and general surrounds in a clean and safe condition Collecting and washing pots, pans, crockery and cutlery About You Previous experience working as a Domestic Assistant / Cleaner or Laundry Assistant/ Kitchen Hand, ideally in an aged care, hospital or similar environment Have a ‘can do’ attitude and a genuine compassion for our residents Reliable with a strong work ethic Ability to work both independently and as part of a team Willingness to uphold the Mission, Vision and Values of The Bethanie Group Willingness to obtain relevant vaccinations Current NDIS Worker Screening Check (or willingness to apply for one) Working with Bethanie Many of us work because we want to make a difference.
