About the role We're seeking an experienced WHS Advisor to support our Eagle Farm site following a recent manufacturing transition, ensuring our WHS system is fully audited, strengthened, and continuously improved. This is a highly hands‑on role, requiring a strong presence on the workshop floor as well as dedicated time behind the desk to complete audits, documentation, reporting, and system improvements. You'll work directly with supervisors, operators, and manufacturing teams to drive WHS improvements where they matter most—both operationally and administratively. There are no direct reports in this position – success relies on your own initiative, practical involvement and ability to influence others, not manage them. You will report directly to the HR & HSEQ Manager. Key Responsibilities WHS Auditing & Compliance : Conduct audits of risk assessments, JSAs, SOPs, and SWIs to identify and close gaps. Process Improvement : Develop and implement comprehensive safety plans, policies, procedures, and work instructions and task competency for high‑risk machinery and tasks. Training & Competency Management: Oversee the WHS training and competency platform (Lucidity), ensuring site compliance and correct task sign‑offs. Incident Management : Investigate incidents, implement corrective actions, and support continuous improvement initiatives, managing all incidents in the safety platform (Lucidity) and submit monthly reporting. Risk Management: Identify workplace hazards, conduct risk assessments, and implement effective control strategies. Workplace Engagement: Work closely with supervisors, team leaders, and manufacturing employees to embed a proactive, safety‑first mindset. Return‑to‑Work Coordination: Act as the on‑site rehabilitation coordinator, supporting injured workers and facilitating suitable duties and return‑to‑work plans. Liaise with Workcover and cover all processes. Safety Meetings & Reporting: Lead HSR and safety meetings on a weekly / quarterly basis and provide legislative guidance under the WHS Act and Regulation. About You Experience : Proven experience as a WHS Advisor, Officer, or Coordinator in a manufacturing or industrial environment. Knowledge : Strong understanding of WHS legislation, risk management, and safety systems. Skills : Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills to influence teams and drive a proactive safety culture. Hands‑on Approach : Comfortable being "out in the plant" rather than behind a desk all day – this role involves office‑based activities as well as active involvement in day‑to‑day operations. Attention to Detail : Meticulous in hazard identification, corrective actions and documentation. Resilience : Ability to work effectively in a busy, fast‑paced environment and remain calm under pressure in this hands‑on, stand‑alone role. Qualifications : Relevant qualifications in Workplace Health & Safety or a similar discipline, with strong knowledge of WHS legislation and its practical application in a manufacturing environment.
