Busy Bees at Ashdale is seeking a passionatePart-Time Chef to prepare nutritious and delicious meals for the children in our care. With a licensed capacity of 94 children, you will play a key role in supporting their health, wellbeing, and learning by providing fresh, high-quality meals each day. This role isfor 15 hours per week , with flexibility for morning to early afternoon shifts. Responsibilities Prepare fresh, healthy, and culturally inclusive meals and snacks for children Plan and deliver weekly menus in line with Nutrition Australia and Busy Bees guidelines Cater for special dietary requirements including allergies, intolerances, and cultural needs Ensure the highest standards of food safety, hygiene, and kitchen compliance (HACCP) Manage kitchen supplies, stock rotation, and ordering Work closely with Centre leadership to promote children’s health and wellbeing Qualifications & Requirements Certificate III in Commercial Cookery (or equivalent qualification) Knowledge of HACCP, food safety programs, and menu planning requirements Experience as a Chef in childcare, schools, or aged care settings (highly desirable) CurrentWorking with Children Check (VIC) Current First Aid and CPR certification (preferred) Full Australian working rights Hourly rate – $30.93 per hour Benefits Laundry allowance and uniform allocation Generous childcare gap fee discounts for permanent staff Monday to Friday only (no weekend work) Access to the Busy Bees learning platform for ongoing professional development Supportive, collaborative, and inclusive team environment Access to our Employee Assistance Program (EAP) for personal and family support Apply now to join Busy Bees at Ashdale as our Chef, where your passion for fresh, healthy food will help fuel the next generation of learners.
