Canvas Suites Apartment Hotel is a 4-star serviced apartment hotel located in the Melbourne CBD. We are looking for a Maintenance Officer / Handyperson to look after our rooms and property, to ensure our rooms standard are upheld to exacting standards. The successful applicant will have proven experience in working autonomously as well as within a team and able to problem solve. Canvas Suites Apartment Hotel has 120 rooms across 28 levels, with a selection of one-bedroom and two-bedroom apartments, with a gym located on our top level. Main Responsibilities Have extensive knowledge and proven experience in different types of general handywork such as painting, plumbing, plastering and carpentry Have experience in repairing or troubleshooting common room appliances such as air conditioning, refrigerator, dishwasher etc. Ensuring all guest and staff maintenance requests are attended to efficiently and a high standard of work To effectively schedule work and preventative maintenance tasks in order to maximise productivity To liaise with all stakeholders in order to gain information and execute the task effectively Ability to liaise with management regarding the use and scheduling of external contractors whilst controlling expenditure and ensuring works completed to a high standard Ensure safety management is appropriately instituted to reduce the risk of accident or incident To utilise and maintain all equipment and machinery correctly and safely High attention to detail whilst completing a daily walk through of all areas of the hotel inside and out to ensure that all areas of the hotel is maintained Able to effectively communicate with internal and external stakeholders Shift Requirements Work is flexible, around 30-45 hours per fortnight.
