The Accounts Receivable Officer provides accounting and clerical support to ensure effective financial management at an industry leader. Duties include issuing event and grant invoices; managing invoicing and reconciling banking and EFTPOS; preparing internal department invoices; processing PayWay credit card payments; handling cash and cheque banking; and managing the TryBooking account, fund transfers, and income recognition. The Accounts Receivable Officer is responsible for coordinating and administering the full accounts receivable function, ensuring accurate accounts are maintained in line with business processes. Key duties include daily reconciliation of remittances through bank statements, preparing bank reconciliations, and managing all invoicing requirements such as club and grant-related invoices, internal department invoicing, processing credit card payments via PayWay, and handling cash and cheque banking. The role also oversees the TryBooking account, including fund transfers and income recognition. In addition to invoicing and reconciliation duties, the position manages the monthly distribution of customer statements and undertakes investigation and follow-up of outstanding invoices. The officer contributes to financial reporting by applying accounting principles, processing transactions, and maintaining financial records in accordance with legislation, accounting standards, and internal policies and procedures. The role also supports the improvement of accounts receivable processes by assisting in the development and implementation of relevant policies and procedures. Collaboration with the broader finance team is essential, including providing backup support for the end-to-end Accounts Payable function when required. To be successful in this role you must have: 2-5 years of experience in a high volume finance area with exposure to accounts receivable, bank reconciliations and month end processing. Understanding of all facets of end to end accounts receivable processing and management including general ledger, sub ledgers and monthly reporting requirements. Extensive experience in using an ERP system and proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite software, particularly MS Excel. Experience in an environment requiring strong attention to detail whilst adhering to deadlines, maintaining a strong stakeholder service focus and demonstrating strong time management skills. Ability to work confidentially, with tact and discretion. Must have or be able to obtain an employee Working with Children Check.
