John Paul College (JPC) is seeking a passionate and driven High-Performance Co‑ordinator to join our Sport & Activities team. This permanent full‑time role is central to delivering high‑quality strength and conditioning programs, athletic development initiatives, and sport‑specific performance pathways for our students. The High‑Performance Co‑ordinator will lead the development and facilitation of our High‑Performance Academy, supporting a culture of excellence with a focus on long‑term athlete development. Working from our purpose‑built Coleman Centre Fitness Centre, the High‑Performance Co‑ordinator will design personalised training programs, oversee gym operations, and collaborate with coaches across our TAS and Academy sports to maximise student performance. This role works closely with the Head of Sport and Activities, Sport Co‑ordinators, Head Coaches, and the wider JPC community to deliver a holistic approach to athletic development, one that balances performance with student wellbeing, academic commitments, and personal growth. Key Responsibilities Leading and implementing the holistic High Performance Academy program for aspiring student‑athletes Creating personalised athlete development and training programs that integrate performance with wellbeing and academic commitments Managing daily operations of the Coleman Centre Fitness Centre, including equipment maintenance, safety protocols, and student and staff inductions Directing and supervising strength and conditioning sessions, ensuring safe, developmentally appropriate training aligned with best practice in youth athlete development Developing and delivering sport‑specific pre‑season and in‑season training programs for TAS sports and Firsts teams in consultation with Head Coaches Leading, mentoring, and supporting casual strength and conditioning coaching staff Co‑ordinating testing protocols and analysing data to inform ongoing program development Supporting injury‑prevention initiatives and embedding athletic development principles into team culture Maintaining consistent communication and monitoring of student‑athlete progress, including mentoring and goal‑setting meetings Co‑ordinating athlete development opportunities such as Information Evenings, workshops, and excursions Providing administrative support for District and Regional representative school sport pathways Assisting with operational requirements at sporting events and carnivals About You You are a motivated and knowledgeable professional with a genuine passion for developing young athletes. You bring strong technical expertise in strength and conditioning, combined with the interpersonal skills to build positive, respectful relationships with students, parents, coaches, and colleagues. You are resilient and adaptable, thriving in a dynamic school environment where flexibility and collaboration are essential. You understand the importance of balancing athletic performance with the holistic development of young people, and you are committed to creating a safe, positive, and inclusive training environment. Essential Qualifications and Experience Completion of a qualification in a relevant discipline (e.g., Exercise Science, Sports Science, Strength and Conditioning) with relevant work experience, or an equivalent combination of experience and training Appropriate qualifications to supervise a gym environment Demonstrated experience in strength and conditioning, athletic development, or high‑performance programming Strong understanding of youth athlete development principles and best practice Excellent organisational and time‑management skills with high attention to detail Strong digital literacy, including proficiency in Microsoft Office Current Senior First Aid certificate, or ability to obtain one Current Blue Card / Positive Notice Working with Children check, or ability to obtain one How to Apply If you are ready to make a meaningful impact and contribute to a thriving sporting community, we encourage you to apply Applications for this role can be submitted by clicking “Apply.” Please ensure your application includes the following: A cover letter addressed to Mrs Julie Maroske, Head of Sport & Activities, outlining your suitability for the role and why you are interested in joining the John Paul College team.
