What you'll be doing As the Nurse Unit Manager, you will oversee operational, clinical and workforce leadership to ensure safe, high‑quality care and efficient service delivery within the Chronic and Complex Care Ward. You will champion nursing excellence, drive patient flow and lead a culture grounded in teamwork, accountability and innovation. In this role you will be: Leading, directing and coordinating patient care to ensure safe, efficient nursing practice. Managing staffing, resources and ward operations within allocated budgets. Fostering collaborative relationships and supporting the professional growth of staff. Promoting patient‑centred care, ethical practice and continuous improvement. Driving safety, quality and change initiatives across the ward. Essential Criteria Registration: Current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) (NSW Registered Nurse – Division 1) Selection Criteria Relevant tertiary qualifications in management and/or specialty, or working towards attainment in same, or extensive management experience in the field that demonstrates ability to perform the role. Recent relevant clinical and management experience deemed appropriate by WSLHD. Demonstrated recent experience and understanding of financial management and accountabilities in relation to stock and effective budget utilisation. Demonstrated application of evidence based practice and critical thinking to patient care. Demonstrated ability to lead change that results in sustained improvements in patient care, throughput and resource utilisation. Demonstrated effective interpersonal and communication skills with demonstrated conflict resolution experience.
