About The Role The EIX Learning and Development Designer & Facilitator plays a pivotal role in supporting the professional growth and capability of Swinburne educators across both Higher Education (HE) and Vocational Education and Training (VET). In this position, the successful candidate will design, develop, deliver, and continuously improve engaging, inclusive, and evidence-based professional learning opportunities for the Education Innovation Exchange’s (EIX) learning and development programs, including the Educator Capability Program (ECP) and the Swinburne Educator Academy. Working in partnership with the Organisational Development team and in collaboration with stakeholders across the University, the incumbent will ensure that all professional learning experiences align with Swinburne’s Educator Capability Framework (ECF) and broader institutional priorities. The EIX Learning and Development Designer & Facilitator will apply innovative pedagogical approaches, leverage effective digital technologies, and use contemporary instructional design models to deliver high-quality learning experiences across multiple modes in the ECP, including online, blended, and face-to-face environments. Through strong stakeholder engagement, the use of data-driven insights, and iterative design practices, this role will contribute to enhancing teaching practice, improving educational quality, and ultimately advancing student success at Swinburne University of Technology. Key Accountabilities Demonstrated understanding and application of adult learning theories, innovative pedagogical approaches, and evidence-informed teaching practices across both Higher Education and Vocational Education and Training (VET) contexts Demonstrated experience in applying contemporary instructional design models, digital technologies and authoring tools to create, publish, and manage learning resources. Strong capability in designing, developing, and delivering professional learning for adult learners in online, blended, and face-to-face learning environments. Strong analytical skills to collect, interpret, and apply feedback and evaluation data to continuously improve professional learning offerings. Qualifications Relevant postgraduate degree and/or extensive relevant experience in the areas of education/training, instructional or learning design and resource development.
