Senior HR Business Partner to operate as the sole HR function for a Gold/Copper mining company in Queensland. This is a hands‑on, autonomous role with initial consulting support, but you will quickly take ownership of all HR matters. About the role: Operate as the primary HR contact for the business, reporting directly to the General Manager. Manage the full HR lifecycle: disputes, recruitment, onboarding, contracts, policy and procedure development, and organisational structure. Support an operational mining workforce, including FIFO from Brisbane (other QLD locations may be considered). Lead organisational change initiatives and ensure compliance with Australian employment laws and Industrial Relations frameworks. Manage sensitive employee matters, Workers Compensation, and provide independent advice to senior leadership. About you: 7+ years’ experience in a Senior HR/HR Business Partner role. Proven ability to operate autonomously in a standalone HR capacity. Previous mining industry experience, preferably with onsite or operational workforces. Strong knowledge of Australian employment laws, IR legislation, and statutory requirements. Commercially minded with strong business acumen. Highly skilled in contract negotiation, drafting, and dispute resolution. Hands‑on, practical, and solutions‑focused approach. Excellent written, verbal, and coaching communication skills. Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Word and Outlook skills. What we offer: Senior, influential HR role with genuine autonomy.
