Join Queensland Treasury as a Principal HR Business Partner and lead impactful HR initiatives, working with senior leaders to deliver contemporary people strategies that drive organisational success in an innovative, fast‑paced environment. Your New Opportunity In this pivotal role, you will lead a team of HR Business Partners to deliver strategic and operational human resources solutions across the department. Reporting to the Manager, People and Culture, you will act as the senior subject matter expert on executive employment and partner with senior executives to provide high‑quality, strategic HR leadership. Your role will enhance leadership capability, support organisational reform, and ensure compliance with legislative, policy and industrial frameworks. Responsibilities Lead a small team of HR Business Partners to provide proactive and high-quality HR advice and support across the entire employment lifecycle, strengthening their capabilities in executive employment, strategic HR practices, and partnering. Act as the senior subject matter expert in executive employment frameworks, including contracts, remuneration, performance agreements, workforce mobility, and leadership development. Monitor and oversee compliance, reporting, and risk management for matters related to executive employment within Treasury. Manage and drive impactful HR projects such as the review of Treasury's HR policy framework and initiatives to advance effective HR and employee relations practices. Coordinate the delivery of workforce management services and deliver critical actions aligned with Treasury's Strategic Workforce Plan to help clients achieve their business goals. Provide expert HR advice and consultancy services on a wide range of complex HR matters to Treasury leaders, ensuring informed and strategic decision‑making. Establish a collaborative, customer‑focused team culture committed to service excellence, continuous innovation, and positive workplace practices. What Experience You Will Bring Demonstrated expertise in executive employment frameworks, industrial relations and strategic HR guidance. Comprehensive HR management experience with the ability to lead, coach and empower a team in a high‑paced, complex environment. Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to confidently brief on complex HR matters. Strong relationship‑building skills to partner effectively across all levels of the organisation. A track record of contributing to strategic HR initiatives and managing major projects efficiently. Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills to navigate complex issues and provide impactful advice.
