Base pay range A$98,000.00/yr - A$138,000.00/yr Join our Downer Professional Services team and play a key role in delivering complex defence and national security projects that safeguard Australia’s future. Downer Professional Services> comprises of three business units our Technical, Advisory, and Capability consulting practice, and Team Downer , which partners with CASG and NSSG as a major service provider to Defence . Together, we are a multi-disciplinary advisory and delivery partner of choice for clients across Defence and National Security. We currently have an opportunity for a Product Support Officer in Canberra to work on Joint projects. What You’ll Do Administrative & Project Support : Provide direct support to Integrated Product Managers, including correspondence management and sustaining project activities. Meeting & Governance Support : Organise and facilitate meetings, participate in governance forums, and produce formal minutes for decision tracking. Records & Data Management : Perform records management for contract deliverables, maintain Objective folders, and ensure compliance with SHFC data obligations. Planning & Coordination : Assist with project planning tools (e.g., Microsoft Planner), sustainment activities, and risk management processes. Personnel & Site Support : Manage onboarding/offboarding of staff, coordinate site visit requests, and maintain updated work instructions. What You’ll Bring Interpersonal & Communication Skills Technical & Systems Knowledge : Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and experience with the One Defence Capability System (ODCS). Project Management Experience : Demonstrated success operating in high-paced project environments, coordinating diverse teams to achieve goals. Leadership & Team Development : Experience in leadership roles with the ability to coach, guide, and implement strategy and change. Defence Capability Expertise : Desirable experience in Defence Capability Projects, CASG environments, and knowledge of Defence policy, legislation, and cross-functional technical teams. Due to the nature of the work, you are required to currently hold and maintain a minimum Negative Vetting 1 or higher Security clearance as required by the Commonwealth. In some instances, compliance with International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) requirements may also be an inherent requirement.
