Department and Campus Overview Keysborough Secondary College, located in Keysborough VIC, is a multi‑campus school offering programs for students Years 7‑12 across the Acacia and Banksia campuses. Selection Criteria Demonstrated capacity to plan and implement best‑practice career counselling, with a sound understanding of relevant legislation and department policies. Highly developed communication and interpersonal skills to build quality partnerships with students, parents, staff and external stakeholders. Capability to work independently and as an effective team member, with high organisational and administrative skills. Commitment to professional learning and growth for self and others. Active promotion of safety and wellbeing of all children in line with Child Safe Standards. Role Summary This part‑time position (four working days) is under the direction of the Careers Development Practitioner & Pathways Manager. It includes career counselling, support for the delivery of career programs, and significant administrative and communication duties. Key Responsibilities Conduct Year 10‑12 Career Action Plan interviews. Provide pathways counselling for disengaged and at‑risk students. Offer information and guidance to students, parents and staff on post‑school pathways and individual course selection. Support the Careers Development Practitioner & Pathways Manager with Structured Workplace Learning, Work Experience and other career programs. Maintain a high level of administrative support for the careers programme. Liaise with external organisations, agencies and providers regarding student pathways. Provide VTAC and SEAS counselling and subject‑selection counselling. Continue professional development and maintain currency as a Careers Practitioner. Other duties as directed by the Careers Development Practitioner & Pathways Manager or Principal Class Team. Qualifications and Professional Requirements Applicants must possess appropriate tertiary qualifications, proven experience in career counselling, and a demonstrated commitment to professional learning. Ongoing currency as a Careers Practitioner is required. Who May Apply Individuals with the aptitude, experience and/or qualifications to meet the specific requirements of this position.
