Business Development Manager

In this BDM role, you will be at the forefront of tapping into the market to build upon the existing Blackwoods portfolio while supporting to deliver on a compelling customer offer and value add approach. Working alongside the Account Manager, Technical, and Category Teams, you will identify opportunities to convert leads with your proactive approach. This role will report into the Head of Technical and is a highly autonomous role leveraging your expertise in fittings, hosing, valves, pumps, and hydraulics. This is a permanent, full-time opportunity and will be based at Blackwoods Mackay . Given the nature of this role there will be the requirement to travel across QLD . Tasks of the role Identify greenfield opportunities for business growth to convert leads Proactively approach and build relationships with existing and potential customers Partner with the Account Managers, Technical Team, Category Team, and Suppliers to create a value‑add approach while leveraging competitive advantage Develop a strong sales pipeline to ensure the achievement of targets Support at a local level relevant planned marketing and technical campaigns Some of the skills required Minimum 7 years’ experience in a Business Development role Proactive and ambitious mindset to build upon existing presence Ability to foster meaningful relationships with customers Ability to develop monthly call plans and actively track and achieve outcomes A forward‑thinking mindset to develop solution‑oriented outcomes for customers Experience in aligning sales plans based on strategic interests Mechanical background advantageous A full, unrestricted Australian driver’s license What’s in it for you Salary package inclusive of tool of trade vehicle A supportive network of stakeholders Team member discounts for Bunnings, Kmart, Officeworks, OnePass, and Target Opportunities to grow and develop Participation in the Wesfarmers share plan Next Steps If you meet most of the criteria listed above and would like to be considered for this opportunity, please send your application today.
