Opening Team - Huzzah, Glen Iris Opening in January 2026, Huzzah is the new venue from Steve Jeffares, co-founder of The Local Taphouse, Stomping Ground Brewery & Beer Hall and the GABS Festival. This is a rare chance to join the opening kitchen team of a brand new bar, restaurant and beer garden designed to bring people together over great food, good company and a relaxed sense of occasion. We are hiring multiple back‑of‑house roles, including Sous Chef and Chef de Partie. The Food Direction Huzzah’s menu is designed for everyday visits as much as special nights out. Homely, produce‑led and always appetising. Simple at heart but elevated in execution, combining refined pub classics with vibrant contemporary dishes that are generous, flavour‑forward and naturally presented. What You’ll Be Part Of A brand‑new kitchen designed for flow and efficiency, a menu built around seasonality and honest cooking, and a leadership team committed to balance, support and genuine hospitality culture. Sous Chef - Key Responsibilities Support the Head Chef in menu development and kitchen operations, lead service in their absence, train and mentor the team, uphold quality and consistency, assist with ordering, food cost and compliance and contribute to a positive and organised kitchen environment. Chef de Partie - Key Responsibilities Run your section with pride, deliver consistent cooking and plating to brand standards, maintain clean workspaces, support teamwork, bring energy and reliability to the role. About You Experienced in modern Australian, produce‑driven kitchens. Calm, collaborative and organised under pressure. A strong communicator who enjoys being part of a team. Passionate about good food and growth. Positive, hands‑on and reliable. Certificate III in Commercial Cookery preferred. Sous Chef applicants must have strong senior experience or be ready for the step up.
