Payroll Officer

We’re seeking a reliable and detail‑oriented Payroll Officer / Bookkeeper to join our construction team on a part‑time basis (approximately 20‑30 hours per week). You’ll be responsible for managing payroll, accounts, and employee onboarding and induction processes, helping keep projects and compliance running smoothly. The role is based at our Laverton North factory , with flexibility to work from home part of the week. Payroll & Bookkeeping Process weekly payroll accurately in Xero , including allowances, EBA rates, overtime, and superannuation. Manage PAYG, payroll tax, and superannuation payments , and ensure compliance with all statutory obligations. Reconcile accounts payable and receivable , track expenses, and assist with BAS preparation. Maintain up‑to‑date and accurate financial records. Liaise with management and accountants for monthly reporting, cost tracking, and cashflow updates. HR & Inductions Coordinate employee onboarding, training, and machine/site inductions across multiple projects. Maintain records for all employee licences, tickets, and qualifications (e.g. White Card, plant tickets, etc.). Organise and update inductions through systems such as Damstra, NEO, 3D Safety, or Simpel . Prepare and issue employment contracts and update staff records as required. Support management with recruitment administration and workforce scheduling. Skills & Experience Previous experience in construction payroll and bookkeeping (Xero experience essential). Understanding of EBA rates, site allowances, and overtime rules . Strong attention to detail and accuracy with numbers. Excellent organisation, communication, and problem‑solving skills. Confident managing induction systems and maintaining compliance documentation. Intermediate to advanced skills in Excel or Google Sheets. What’s on Offer Part‑time role (approx. 30 hours per week).
