Overview We're partnering with a leading national business, headquartered in Fortitude Valley, and are looking for a Payroll Manager to join their team. If you're a hands‑on payroll leader who thrives in fast‑paced environments and enjoys driving process improvements, this role is for you. Reporting to the Financial Controller, you will take full responsibility for the internalisation and day‑to‑day delivery of payroll across multiple entities and sites. With a new system being implemented, you will play a key role in systems set‑up, compliance, process improvement, and building internal payroll capability from the ground up. Key Responsibilities Lead and manage end‑to‑end payroll across a large, diverse employee base. Drive the implementation and configuration of a new in‑house payroll system. Ensure compliance with relevant awards, EBAs, and Fair Work legislation. Collaborate with finance, HR, and site operations to ensure accurate and timely processing. Support employee onboarding, leave accruals, superannuation, and terminations. Continuously improve payroll reporting, controls, and documentation. Build scalable systems and processes that support future growth. About You Proven experience managing payroll in a multi‑site, award‑covered environment. Hands‑on experience with payroll system implementation or transformation projects. Sound understanding of the Fair Work Act, NES, and modern awards. Confident communicator with excellent stakeholder engagement skills. Hospitality, retail, or services industry background highly desirable.
