Administration Officer – Aboriginal Identified Position NSW Aboriginal Education Consultative Group Inc – Cardiff NSW About the position: The NSW AECG is looking for an Administration Officer to join our team based in Cardiff (Newcastle). The role requires administrative skills and experience to support the establishment and operation of programs and services delivered to the Hunter and surrounding areas. The position reports to the Finance and Administration Manager in Sydney. Location: Cardiff (Newcastle) Contract: Full‑time (35 hours per week) for an initial 2‑year contract. Salary: $70,000 to $80,000 per annum, excluding superannuation and other eligible allowances. Sound knowledge of the NSW AECG Inc. High-level Information Technology skills and demonstrated ability to utilise programs effectively. Strong oral, negotiation and written communication skills. Ability to work independently and be part of a team. Strong leadership qualities and the ability to think creatively and solve problems effectively. Sound, demonstrated time management and organisational skills. NSW Driver’s License and ability to travel within NSW and interstate as required. A National Criminal History Check or willingness to obtain. Desirable Position Criteria: A current NSW Working with Children Check clearance for paid employment. Key Responsibilities / Accountabilities: Manage accounts receivable and payable processes, ensuring timely collections and payments. Provide general office and administrative support: reception duties, answering email inquiries, and developing office procedures and systems. Coordinate office projects or events and provide administrative support to the Finance and Administration Manager. Procure office supplies, equipment, and consumables. Manage and liaise with on‑site service providers, including property manager, building maintenance, phones, IT service providers, lease management, and administration. Oversee vehicle management, including insurance, registration, services, repairs, claims coordination, and maintaining vehicle and equipment logs. Ensure the office environment is maintained and functional, including managing cleaning services, security protocols, and space planning. Manage office schedules and address any issues or conflicts that arise. Oversee all administration of the Hunter Office. Support the administration of AECG Programs and staff. Support the secretariat, including direct support to the Finance and Administration Manager.
