The Opportunity We’re seeking a passionate, dynamic Careers & Community Manager to join our vibrant Sydney team. In this role, you’ll work closely with the Founder & Director and the Careers & Community Team to guide students in their career development and foster a supportive, engaging community. You’ll also collaborate with two dedicated assistants, one based in Sydney and the other in Melbourne, ensuring seamless operations across both campuses. If you're energetic, highly organised, and love mentoring future fashion professionals, this is your chance to make a real impact in a creative, fast-paced environment. Key Responsibilities Coordinate internships and work experience opportunities for on-campus and online students. Organise one-on-one career consultations, offering tailored advice and helping students prepare for their first industry placements. Conduct regular check-ins to track student progress and provide ongoing support. Assist students with resume and cover letter updates to enhance their employability. Manage NFC's Graduate Portal and engage with industry partners to secure new job opportunities. Provide guidance on optimising LinkedIn profiles and personal branding. Community Engagement & Student Welfare Host weekly check-ins with students, building strong relationships and offering support. Assist with organising student events, orientation, and graduation to ensure students feel connected and supported. Contribute to quarterly campaigns, helping students showcase their talents and engage with the wider fashion community. Offer wellness support and guidance to students navigating their academic and career challenges. Marketing & Branding Represent NFC at Careers Expos across Australia, promoting the college and engaging with prospective students. Manage the NFC Student Blog and contribute to weekly social media updates. Support the promotion and logistics of NFC’s styling workshops and other key events. Networking & Industry Exposure Plan and execute weekly networking events and industry excursions. Coordinate guest speakers and industry professionals for networking events. Accompany students on excursions, helping them build connections within the fashion world. International Program Secure global industry experiences for students during events like Fashion Week. Manage student itineraries and ensure smooth execution of Q&A sessions, office tours, and cultural activities. Who You Are You are a high-energy, organised professional with a passion for the fashion industry and a talent for connecting with people. You thrive in a fast-paced, ever-evolving environment and love juggling multiple projects. You have a natural ability to motivate and inspire others, and you're skilled at managing your time and priorities. You’ll bring: A Passion for Fashion & Creativity: A genuine interest in fashion, youth culture, and the creative industries. Industry Experience: 3+ years in the fashion industry, with ideal experience in PR, styling, events, recruitment, or magazines. People-Oriented: You’re approachable, personable, and know how to connect with people from all walks of life. Multitasker Extraordinaire: Strong time-management skills and the ability to stay organised and focused under pressure. Strong Communication Skills: You can engage, inspire, and collaborate effectively with students, industry professionals, and the team. Tech-Savvy: Comfortable using social media platforms, student portals, and office tools (Outlook, Excel, etc.).
