About the Job We are seeking five entry-level Maintenance Welders to commence in November 2025. Applicants must be reliable, motivated, and committed to working safely within a supportive team environment. No prior experience is required — full on-the-job training will be provided. Depending on your skills and training, you may be involved in: Assisting qualified tradespeople with maintenance and repair of machinery and plant Welding, cutting, grinding, and fabrication of metal parts and equipment General workshop duties, tool preparation, and housekeeping Preventative maintenance and basic mechanical servicing under supervision Supporting installation and breakdown repair of processing equipment Cleaning and maintaining work areas, tools, and safety equipment Workplace Conditions Cowra is a regional rural town in New South Wales that experiences cold winters and hot summers. Work is performed across both indoor and outdoor environments within an operational meat processing facility. Conditions can include exposure to heat, noise, steam, and production odours. The role involves manual handling, welding, fabrication, and maintenance of industrial plant and equipment. All necessary personal protective equipment (PPE) will be provided, including welding gear, gloves, eye and hearing protection, and safety footwear. Work must always comply with site WHS policies, lock-out/tag-out procedures, and hot-work permit requirements. Pay and Conditions Award: Manufacturing and Associated Industries and Occupations Award 2020 (MA ) Classification: Entry Level / Level 1 Hourly Rate: $28.26 per hour Estimated Annual Earnings: $55,841.76 (based on 38 hours per week) Hours: Full-time (minimum 38 hours per week) with the potential for overtime Shift Hours: 8:00 am – 4:00 pm, Monday to Friday Employment Type: Successful applicants will be offered full-time employment Location: Cowra, New South Wales All employment conditions are in accordance with the Fair Work Act 2009 (Cth) and the Manufacturing and Associated Industries and Occupations Award 2020 (MA ), including applicable allowances, penalty rates, overtime, and leave entitlements.
