Are you an experienced rehabilitation case manager seeking to make a meaningful impact within a dynamic government environment? We are now hiring a dedicated APS6 Rehabilitation Case Manager for a six-month labour hire engagement in Canberra. This role offers the chance to work on complex claims, coordinate return-to-work initiatives, and support employees’ wellbeing — all within a collaborative, high-performing team committed to public service excellence. Required Skills: Proven experience managing workers’ compensation claims and rehabilitation within a government, APS, or similar setting Strong understanding of Comcare claims processes, the SRC Act, and relevant legislation Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills, particularly in sensitive conversations Demonstrated ability to manage complex cases with high attention to detail and sound judgment Ability to work independently and adapt in a fast-paced, demanding environment Competency in assessing and applying health, safety, and legal requirements in case management Nice to Have Skills: Experience navigating the APS Integrated Leadership System (ILS) Formal qualifications in Human Resources, Law, Psychology, or related fields Knowledge of working within or alongside rehabilitation providers and legal teams Prior experience in high-pressure, emotionally charged case environments Preferred Education and Experience: Tertiary qualifications in HR, Law, Psychology, or related fields strongly preferred Minimum of 2 years' experience managing complex rehabilitation or workers’ compensation cases Experience working within the APS or a similar government framework Other Requirements: Baseline security clearance is mandatory Ability to work on-site in Canberra three days per week Willingness to adhere to all workplace health and safety standards and confidentiality protocols This is a fantastic chance to bring your expertise to a role that truly makes a difference.
