WACHS Midwest is seeking passionate Aboriginal Health Workers to join our Community Health team. This role is vital in delivering culturally safe, community-based health care across the diverse and expansive Midwest region, which includes Gascoyne, Geraldton, Midwest and Murchison districts. You will work closely with Aboriginal clients, families, and communities to promote health, prevent disease, and support access to services. Your work will help strengthen cultural security and improve health outcomes for Aboriginal people in rural and remote settings. As Part Of Our Community Health Team, You Will Act as an advocate and cultural broker, bridging the gap between Aboriginal patients, their families, and healthcare staff. Provide clinical support and personal care under the supervision of registered nurses. Participate in multidisciplinary care planning, implementation, and evaluation. Support health promotion, education, and outreach activities in community settings, while assisting clients to fulfil their social, cultural, and spiritual requirements. Maintain accurate health records and contribute to service improvement initiatives. Participate in performance management and continuous quality improvement initiatives. The Ideal Candidate Must be of Aboriginal descent, in accordance with the Equal Opportunities Act. Holds an Advanced Certificate in Aboriginal Health Work (Certificate IV) or a comparable qualification. Possesses strong interpersonal and communication skills to work effectively within a health care team. Is capable of reading, writing, and interpreting medical instructions and reports. Demonstrates proven ability to prioritise and manage workload collaboratively under nurse delegation. Holds a current C or C-A Class driver's licence or other relevant specialised licence.
