Project Officer – People Strategy & Development NSW Department of Communities and Justice Employment Type: Temporary (6 months) with possible extension Salary: Clerk Grade 7/8, $106,025 – $117,363 per annum + superannuation Purpose: Drive People & Culture projects that support AHO employees to improve outcomes for Aboriginal communities across NSW Location: Parramatta (Hybrid) Team: 9-member collaborative People & Culture services team Your role Join the Aboriginal Housing Office (AHO) in a purpose‑driven role within the People Strategy & Development team. You’ll lead and deliver projects that strengthen AHO’s ability to achieve better outcomes for Aboriginal communities. While the initial engagement is six months (starting ASAP), there may be opportunities for extension or future roles. This recruitment will also create a talent pool for upcoming vacancies. What You’ll Do Design, implement, and coordinate projects that deliver effective business outcomes and meet service delivery needs. Conduct research and analysis to support project development and process improvement using best‑practice methodologies. Prepare reports, budgets, discussion papers, and status updates for stakeholders. Deliver assigned projects within agreed timelines and quality standards. Build and maintain strong relationships with internal teams and external stakeholders. Support onboarding programs, including presentations and documentation. Assist with Workplace Health & Safety initiatives. Manage team calendars and promote People & Culture events. Develop manuals, quick reference guides, and process documentation. Use project management tools and issue trackers to manage requests. Provide administrative support to the Manager and team, including inbox management and process improvement. What We’re Looking For Experience as a Project Officer or similar role, with relevant qualifications or equivalent skills. Strong problem‑solving and customer‑service orientation. Commitment to improving outcomes for Aboriginal communities. Understanding of Aboriginal cultural beliefs, socio‑economic context, and historical/political impacts on housing and land rights.
